This flour blend is different than any I have previously tried: it is completely rice-free and it uses navy bean flour. The navy bean flour is combined with tapioca starch and sorghum flour for a (relatively) high protein/high fiber blend. There are very few mixes that I find work with my varied and restrictive diet. Allergic Girl Sloane Miller gave me some “Allergic Solutions Waffle Mix” and, not having a waffle iron, I decided to make them as pancakes. Knowing what I now know about egg replacers, I decided to use flax seed for the egg replacer. These pancakes, made with chickpea flour, were wonderfully delicious, and what’s more, because of the fiber from the chickpea flour, they were also very filling. I made a whole batch, and froze the rest which I pull out every once in a while for a decadent morning breakfast treat. Read more here

Today I’d like to tell you about the products from Allergic Solution. The company and products were born from a passionate journey to eat foods that help reduce inflammation within the body. Tammie, the owner has applied her 20+ years in the nutrition, healthy and wellness community as well as her own personal experience to create these products. Something that really irritates me about dealing with food allergies is that baking mixes and prepared foods made specifically for those with food allergies are often very unhealthy. They are usually loaded with starches, sugar, and grains with little to no fiber or protein. I am happy to tell you, there are healthy alternatives out there for those looking for baking short cuts.
